Life begins in a garden.

Kamusta! I’m Jia (Bay Area, Los Gatos CA based). I’m an aspiring farmer-florist who is passionate about all aspects of cultivating flowers and creating something beautiful with them in hopes of connecting people closer to nature, each other, and themselves.

My floral style is botanically-inspired, horticulturally-informed. The seasonality of plants shape my design choices; it pushes me to think holistically to capture and celebrate that moment from the garden into the arrangement. As a horticulturist, I am always looking for new materials to use in arrangements from the flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, and ornamental plants I grow and care for. I am constantly listening to and learning from plants, finding inspiration from them for shapes, colors, and movement to highlight in the display as if they were plucked straight from the garden. As a creative, I love to experiment, explore, and learn on each project I am involved with in order to become more skilled in my craft and to deepen my relationship to the natural world.

I believe that flowers have ability to transcend languages, cultures, and disparate backgrounds during any type of occasion. By letting flowers speak for themselves, they ground us in a sense of time and place. Though blooms are ephemeral, the emotions they bring out in us are enduring.

I hope to work with you soon!
